Intune manages your fleet; Pulse tracks who has each device, what's overdue, and what it cost. Connect them through Microsoft Graph with a read-only app registration and your inventory stays current on its own — Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
What syncs from Intune
- ✓Serial number — used to match and de-duplicate assets

- ✓Model and manufacturer
- ✓Operating system and version
- ✓Primary user (UPN/email and display name) — for optional automatic check-out

Setup in three steps

Register an app in Entra ID
App registrations → New registration. Note the tenant ID and client ID, then create a client secret under Certificates & secrets.

Grant one read-only permission
Add the Microsoft Graph application permission DeviceManagementManagedDevices.Read.All and grant admin consent. Read-only — Pulse never writes to Intune.

Paste credentials into Pulse
Enter tenant ID, client ID, and secret in Pulse's MDM settings, then choose which device types sync and whether new assets and owners get created automatically.
Common questions
What permission does Pulse need?
One Microsoft Graph application permission: DeviceManagementManagedDevices.Read.All, with admin consent. Read-only. An active Intune license on the tenant is required.
Is Pulse a replacement for Intune?
No. Intune enforces policy and secures devices; Pulse is the ownership layer — who holds each device, what's due back, what it cost. Different jobs, better together.
We have Macs in Jamf and PCs in Intune — can both sync?
Yes. Connect both and each feeds the same ledger. Serial-number matching keeps a device from ever appearing twice.
What about equipment Intune doesn't see?
Monitors, docks, phones, accessories, and licenses can be added directly in Pulse or imported from a CSV. Intune is one feed into the ledger, not a requirement.
